Parsyl Announces Appointment of Edward Mishambi to Board of Directors; Names New Active Underwriter and Opens Doors to London Office

Denver - CO -- September 28th - Parsyl, a data-powered insurer for essential supply chains, today announced that Edward Mishambi, SVP and Chief Risk Officer- Europe at RenaissanceRe, will join its board as an independent non-executive director. Parsyl also named its Chief Insurance Officer Gavin Spencer as the new Active Underwriter of Syndicate 1796, it’s mission-focused Syndicate-in-a-Box at Lloyd’s. The announcements build on Parsyl’s recent London talent acquisitions and insurance business expansion, and align with the official opening of Parsyl’s London office on September 26th.

Parsyl’s London office, located in the heart of the insurance community, has officially opened its doors with a London-based team of underwriting leaders including Kristopher Kimble, Henry Wood and Ed Colclough. Gavin Spencer, Parsyl’s Chief Insurance Officer who joined Parsyl last year, has been named Active Underwriter of Syndicate 1796.

Background on Edward Mishambi

Mr. Mishambi joined RenaissanceRe in 2009 and is currently a Senior Vice President and the Chief Risk Officer- Europe. As part of his responsibilities, Mr. Mishambi is responsible for leading, developing, implementing, and maintaining RenaissanceRe’s European risk management framework. In addition, Mr. Mishambi leads the activities related to risk and capital reporting to rating agencies, including maintaining rating agency relationships across RenaissanceRe’s owned and managed balance sheets. Prior to joining RenaissanceRe, Mr. Mishambi worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) in Bermuda and with Deloitte in East Africa.  He attended Mansfield College, Oxford University as a Rhodes Scholar.  He also holds a BSc (Honors) in Quantitative Economics from Makerere University and is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA).
