World Immunization Week: Reflecting on Parsyl’s Global Health Impact

It’s World Immunization Week - a week very special to Parsyl as we remain focused on protecting essential goods, from the first mile to the last! Read on to learn more about why we celebrate this week and our impact on the Global Health space.

What is World Immunization Week?

A global health awareness day created by the World Health Organization (WHO) and observed annually.

We celebrate our global partners during World Immunization Week and their commitment to monitoring country-wide health systems, shipments, and last-mile deliveries of critical health goods like vaccines. Together, we will create a world where everyone, everywhere, can trust the vaccines and medicines they rely on.

Parsyl’s Global Health Impact

In 2022, Parsyl monitored approximately $700 million in total value of vaccines.
From manufacturer to patient, essential medicines travel thousands of miles by air, land, and sea and are at risk of loss due to temperature exposure. Parsyl’s technology is optimized for low-connectivity environments, enabling newfound visibility throughout the cold chain. Our temperature monitoring devices are placed inside cold rooms, refrigerators, cold boxes, and refrigerated trucks to monitor vaccines every step of the way.

Parsyl has positively impacted more than 90 countries worldwide.
Parsyl was awarded a grant by GAVI, the Vaccine Alliance, and the US Department of State to support our efforts to improve vaccine supply chains in low- and middle-income countries. This grant and other partnerships have enabled Parsyl to work with a variety of different countries to improve and protect global healthcare supply chains.

Parsyl has deployed over 82,000 devices to monitor COVID-19 and routine vaccines.
We are proud to work with our partners to improve vaccine supply chain management and ensure that vaccines reach the people who need them most.

Did you know that vaccines have a 24% chance of experiencing a freeze event between regional stores and the last mile? Parsyl lowers that risk with end-to-end visibility into what’s happening during transport and storage.

There are over $1 billion in global health commodities insured by the Global Health Risk Facility (GHRF).
Parsyl provides insurance for life-saving goods through the GHRF, an alliance of insurance and technology partners supporting the distribution of critical health and humanitarian supplies. The GHRF is backed by Parsyl’s own Syndicate 1796.

FAST FACT:  Our Syndicate was given the number ‘1796’ in honor of the year physician Edward Jenner carried out his first experiments in what would become the smallpox vaccine, the world’s first vaccine. Learn more about our insurance offerings
